Lifestyle Photoshoot with Jayd with a Y
It's been quite a while since I posted a blog. This journey that I am on is entirely unpredictable and I cannot pre-empt my emotions from hour to hour.
A short while ago I came across a request from Jayd Dell who was looking for women with a story to tell for a coffee table book she wants to print. Let me tell you a little bit about Jayd, she is really young and facing a lot of challenges in her life but isn't letting anything hold her back.
Jayd wanted photographs with the stories so a lot of us ladies had a lovely time chatting at the photoshoot and sharing our stories with each other over coffee. I was blown away by the power of these women from all walks of life.
It took me some time to think about my story as I have two to tell. I am a breast cancer survivor and I have also lost my daughter in April of this year. I really wanted to highlight both stories in my lifestyle shoot so gave it lots of thought and this is what I came up with.
The only way I could highlight Chanelle's passion for dance was to wear her Irish Dancing Shoes and a lovely, engraved pendant given to me by a special family member. This pendant stays close to my heart and reminds me of Chanelle. For my cancer the photographer and I decided to show a picture of my scar as well as my sleeve for Lymphodema, a direct result of my cancer surgery..
I look forward to the actual launch of the coffee table book but I hope you love the photo's below and what they represent.
