CHANELLE ANGEL NETWORK

WE CAN'T HELP EVERYONE, BUT TOGETHER, WE CAN HELP MANY

How Chanelle Angel Network Began
"Sometimes in tragedy, we find our life's purpose"
-Robert Brault
It all began on the morning of the 08th April 2017 when we got the phone call that would change our lives forever. Our beloved Chanelle was gone, she had bravely fought for three weeks but in the end, it was just too much. On the 17th of March, she had been hit by a car that was racing illegally and sustained severe injuries. Life as we knew it would never be the same.
There was a collective feeling of disbelief amongst her friends, acquaintances, and family that this had happened. How could a person who had lived her life to the fullest have her life snuffed out, just like that? A question we still battle with three months later.
As her mother, I could not let her life end on that note, I knew what her dreams and aspirations were and there simply was no other option for me but to continue with her legacy. A legacy of truly caring for others, choosing to always see the good in every situation no matter how painful it was for her.
This is when Chanelle Angel Network was born. To continue with her passion for dance by sharing it with different communities and hopefully making a difference.
People may question how this will make a difference in people's lives. If we look around us today we are surrounded by social ill's, stress, dysfunctional relationships and feelings of doom and gloom. People often say life isn't the same anymore. I totally agree with that and believe that as a society we need outlets for these feelings before the downward spiral continues.
Are the above not clear examples of what a lot of our youth are going through today. I also believe that a lot of younger children and adults suffer from the same. So why dance you may ask?
According to Psychology Today if you want to improve your chances of retaining both your physical and mental fitness as you age, find an activity that involves physical exercise to increase physical and cardiac fitness, but that also involves lots of quick thinking. Dancing is obviously the perfect choice, and it has other benefits as well; it is usually a social activity (although dancing alone down a starlit beach is pretty nice too), it takes over and halts all thoughts of work and life’s problems, and it makes us happy.
Perhaps that clichéd saying often seen on cards holds some truth -
“Dance like there is no tomorrow” should be “Dance so there is a tomorrow”!
